What are things I am allow to bring on my carry on, back home or over to my destination?
This varies from location to location and it also depends if you are planning on checking in a bag or just bringing a carry-on and personal item. Some items that are prohibited and to bring in carry ons are:
-
Anything with blades or sharp objects, that can be used as a weapon (this includes your nail clipper sorry!).
-
Any liquid or container with liquid greater than 3.4 oz (this also applies for snowglobes and perfumes! If you really want to bring one we recommend you put it in your checked bag).
-
Anything that is considered flammable such as hairspray, dry shampoo, bug spray.
-
If you are bringing a vape or electronic cigarette, make sure it is in your carry-on and not in your checked bags.
We recommend you to always double check your carry on bag, make sure you empty it completely before start packing just to air in the side of caution. The last thing you want is a screw or a flathead pin to delay your time on TSA!!
What can I do if I have an allergy or medical condition that could impact my traveling?

We obviously suggest you talk with your care provider and see if they have any suggestions on what medicine you can bring and the amount. Some of our recommendations for this are:
-
Make sure you bring the medicine in its original container and preferably with your name displayed on the prescription label.
-
We suggest you keep all your medicines close to you and bring them in your carry on rather than in a checked bag.
-
Bring the medications inside a waterproof bag, so it stays safe the whole trip!
-
Depending on the medications you take, they can be considered a controlled substance, if that is the case we recommend you get a note from your doctor to have all bases covered.
As always this varies from country to country, so we will help navigate this! Remember you know your body better than anyone,so if there are any concerns in regards to the activities, weather or foods let us know so we can guide you and get the necessary accommodations for you.
How can I be safer when traveling alone?

This is one of our most common questions and for a good reason! This is a very large topic and can not be summarized in one page, but here are some pointers:
-
Always share your itinerary with at least one person that is not going with you, so they can have a good idea of where you will be and can check in on you.
-
Always be aware of your surroundings, don’t wear headphones in public and avoid being on your phone. Staying alert can go a long way!
-
Don’t share where you are staying or that you are traveling alone, people can come off really friendly and even though most of the time they might have good intentions, it is better to be cautious.
-
If locals tell you to not go somewhere, trust them!
-
Avoid staying in secluded areas or areas without public lighting.
There are plenty more ways to be and stay safe while traveling solo, we could write a whole book about it. For this reason we will go more in depth when we meet one-on-one and cover a diversity of more areas and questions that might pop in your head through this.
What are some essentials I must bring with me on my trip?
We all have different packing and traveling styles, and therefore we all consider different things essential. Some of our favorite essentials are:
-
Portable battery
-
Bug spray
-
International outlet adaptor
-
Stomachache and headache medicine
-
Sunglasses
-
Collapsible/reusable water bottle
-
Earplugs
-
One light jacket or windbreaker
And of course we can forget our main two most important essentials, cash and your passport. It’s always a good habit to bring some cash in the currency of the country you are traveling to, this is because it’s common for some places to not take credit cards and some ATMs can be closed due to holidays or weekends. Always bring a copy of your governmental and/or identification documents, this is in case you lose it or might need to get a replacement, having an extra copy of them will save you lots of headaches!
